TMA Launches New Web Site

The Trailer Manufacturers Association launched the organization's first-ever Web site at the beginning of the New Year, trailermanufacturersassociation.org, to provide information for both trailer manufacturers and consumers, the National Marine Manufacturers Association reported in a release today...For TMA members, an area of the site is specifically designated to allow them access to information, which pertains directly to trailer manufacturers and their business, including updates on safety and regulations changes and trailer certification requirements under the National Marine Manufacturers Association's Trailer Certification program...

Great Lakes States Big On Boating

...And while the cold weather keeps Midwesterners from enjoying their boats this time of year, a new study found Midwestern and Great Lakes states heavily represented in the top 10 states for boat ownership. Discover Boating, a national consumer awareness program for the recreational boating industry, surveyed boat registrations and found that while Florida is the top boating state for the second year in row with nearly 974,000 registered boats, followed by California, the next three were Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Those five states accounted for nearly third of all boat registrations...

35th Annual Minneapolis Boat Show Ends On A High Note

Organizers and exhibitors of the 35th Annual Minneapolis Boat Show reported today the show was considered a success. The Boat Show was held January 17th through January 21st and drew 40,616 visitors (down 9% from 2006) to the Minneapolis Convention Center...A highlight of the 2007 Minneapolis Boat Show was, "Bling My Boat," a boat makeover contest introduced at the 35th Annual Minneapolis Boat Show. The Noreen family and their 1970 Sea Ray were the winners of the first "Bling My Boat" contest presented by Travelers Insurance. The Noreen's boat was revealed on opening day...
