NMMA Certified Boats Featured On Boats.com

The National Marine Manufacturers Association has teamed up with Internet retailer boats.com to educate the public about the advantages of purchasing new boats that are NMMA certified. Boats must be built to United States Coast Guard standards, as well as the more comprehensive industry standards developed by the American Boat & Yacht Council in order to achieve NMMA certification..."Boats.com is dedicated to increasing consumer interest in boating and driving new boat sales," boats.com general manager Eric Monday said in a statement. "By working alongside the NMMA, we help boat buyers make an informed buying decision and ensure that the boats our customers buy are built with quality and safety as the highest priority."...


NMMA Wins PR Awards For Chicago Show Promos

The Publicity Club of Chicago recently handed three Silver Trumpet Awards to the National Marine Manufacturers Association for its outstanding public relations efforts on the 2006 Chicago Boat, RV & Outdoors Show. The NMMA received awards for marketing its overall show media coverage, community relations for its Discover Boating Patch program, and special events for the in door river and all-terrain vehicle course at the show...

Norwalk In-Water Show This Weekend

The 31st edition of the Norwalk International In-Water Boat Show, the Northeast's most popular boat show, will be held at the Norwalk Cove Marina in East Norwalk from Thursday. Boat Dealers Hoping Show Lures More Buyers Onboard

As a rule, people who buy $4.2 million yachts don't worry about the price of gas. So, if anyone considers buying the 68-foot Hatteras on display at this year's Tampa Boat Show - including its hardwood flooring, spiral staircase, two bedrooms and four bathrooms - they won't be pinching pennies...The Bay area's boat dealers are hoping to jumpstart a generally sluggish boating industry with this weekend's boat show, sponsored by the National Marine Manufacturers Association. The show runs today through Sunday at the Tampa Convention Center. Inside the convention hall, some 500 small and midsize boats will be on display from Bay area dealers and a smattering of East Coast dealers...


Antique Lures Are Added Attraction At Boat Show

There was no shortage of large luxury yachts, sailboats and other unique crafts on display at the Norwalk International In-Water Boat Show yesterday, but some of the rarest items were tucked inside small display cases away from the water. For the first time, the annual show at Norwalk Cove Marina featured an extensive display of vintage fishing tackle, with antique metal and wooden lures, rods and reels from as far back as the late 19th century...
