National Marine
Manufacturers Association Coverage
For the first time, boat show producers who
are not affiliated with the National Marine Manufacturers Association
can get a sneak preview of the ads produced by the NMMA. "The
campaign for our 2007 show season features some of the best-produced
creative to come out of NMMA," says Carl Blackwell, NMMA
vice president of marketing and communications. "We're very proud of how
the campaign turned out and echo the Executive Committee's belief that
by producing top-quality advertising, we'll help draw top-quality
attendees -- which is why the committee also decided to make these
available to other boat show producers."...
U.S. Rep. John Sweeney's loss Tuesday to
Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand will almost certainly doom a bill that
became a political liability for him. In May, the Republican from
Clifton Park introduced a measure that would give tax breaks to boat
manufacturers that provide high-end, easy- to-wear life vests and
emergency radio beacons to consumers for free. The bill was crafted with
help from the National Marine Manufacturers Association...Monita
Fontaine, vice president of government relations for the marine
manufacturers association, said in a statement: "We look forward to
working with the new Congress on issues important to promoting a strong
U.S. manufacturing base, expanding trade opportunities, promoting job
growth and safety initiatives for the boating public."
One Year Later, 121 Dealers Certified Ten more boat
dealerships recently became certified under the Grow Boating
Initiative's Marine Industry Dealership Certification program, Grow
Boating reported in a recent statement..."November marks the official
one-year anniversary of the Marine Industry Dealership Certification
program, and in just 12 months time the program's managed to bring an
impressive number of dealerships -- 400 of them -- into the
certification program," said Phil Keeter, president of the Marine
Retailers Association of America (MRAA). "Earning certified status not
only demonstrates a dealership's commitment to improving customer
satisfaction, but it comes with additional benefits including free
listings on the GrowBoating.org and DiscoverBoating.com websites,
promotional materials and direct access to consumer prospects generated
through the Discover Boating campaign."... Attendance at the
National Marine Manufacturers Association's (NMMA) 2006
consumer boat shows was up 7 percent over the previous year's figures,
it reported in a recent statement..."Exhibitors from our 2006 winter
season frequently commented on the high quality buying crowds and the
fact they were not only seeing new faces but selling to these new people
as well," said Ben Wold, NMMA executive vice president..."One
plan is to send every hot prospect generated through
DiscoverBoating.com two free tickets to the upcoming boat show in
their area. That's somewhere between 10,000 and 12,000 people who will
receive tickets," he explained... The 45th Annual
Atlanta Boat Show returns to Georgia Jan. 10-14, 2007. As the
state's largest boating exhibition, the 2007 show will feature the
latest and greatest in boating products and accessories...Debuting at
the 2007 Atlanta Boat Show is the "Take Me Fishing Center"
created by the National Marine Manufacturers Association and the
Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation...Discover Boating
Patch Program - Scouts and youth groups can earn their Discover
Boating Patch by visiting the interactive learning stations located
throughout the show. The patch program is designed to give kids
educational information and experience in outdoor ethics, boating
basics, boating lingo and fishing... Looking for the next
level in recreation? A variety of high-end recreational vehicles and
boats, among other products, will be highlighted at the Louisville
Boat RV & Sportshow set for Jan. 27 to Feb. 4 at the Kentucky
Exposition Center. Tickets will go on sale Dec. 11. The National
