The National Marine Manufacturers Association has expanded its promotional partnership with the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation to create a new feature exhibit for some of its consumer boat and sportshows, NMMA reported in a recent release..."We're excited to join RBFF to bring a fun and interactive experience to boat show attendees," said Ben Wold, executive vice president for the NMMA. ...Manufacturers know that fishermen spend time coddling their boats but ignore their trailers. And so does the National Marine Manufacturers Association. That's one reason it offers a certification process that requires detailed, third-party inspections to ensure the trailer you buy meets applicable regulations of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. "Once the trailer is certified, the consumer knows the manufacturer went the extra step to provide a compliant product and meet govern mental standards," says Robert Newsome, engineering standards manager of NMMA. Newsome says most major trailer manufacturers utilize the NMMA certification process. Many that do, carry the NMMA seal somewhere on the trailer...

Mates Creates Sales Lead Standard

The Marine Association for Technology Exchange Standards has developed a sales lead specification that brings new efficiency to the process by which manufacturers and dealers access consumer sales leads generated via DiscoverBoating.com, MATES reported in a press release yesterday. The MATES standard is the basis for the Discover Boating Remote Lead Export System, developed by Channel Blade Technologies, which allows companies to poll the service as often as every four hours to retrieve lead information in a generic, structured and easy-to-use data format -- XML (Extensible Markup Language)...
